When Sophie at Gage Events reached out to me regarding this September wedding in early March, I was incredibly thankful that I still had room in my schedule. Truly one of the most beautiful tented weddings I’ve witnessed in Pittsburgh!
Grace & Austin met in preschool, knew each other growing up, dated in high school and then ended up going their separate ways to different colleges, as I think a lot of us do. Rarely do those childhood romances last – but this one rekindled years later, despite living in different states, despite really all the odds being against them. You can instantly feel the mutual respect and love these two share with each other, and the level of familiarity that really only comes from knowing someone for a long time. Growing up together, and now growing older together. How beautiful is that?
I truly don’t take this job lightly. These families, these stories. Being observant and paying attention during a wedding day is my highest calling as a wedding photographer. It’s not just about taking pretty photos, that’s not enough. That doesn’t tell the whole story. It’s about the people, always.
