Morgan & Ryan’s June wedding at Fox Chapel Golf Club in Pittsburgh was one for the books. I don’t even know where to start! The love between these two and their families was so palpable. Everything they chose to do was intentional and so special to them and who they are. So many moments stand out for me – Morgan’s first look with her dad outside his home – Morgan & Ryan signing the ketubah with their closest friends and family – Morgan’s mom & stepmom sharing an emotional moment during the ketubah signing – Ryan breaking the glass under the Chuppah – and so, so many more. This couple also decided to do a first look so that they could attend their entire cocktail hour and mingle with guests, which I highly, highly recommend!
I think that wedding days can become something we do for the show of it, sometimes. Unfortunately that’s just the reality in the world we live in with social media constantly bombarding us with over the top weddings and a fun new trend every two minutes. But I am so lucky to have couples who are more interested in the experience of the day for themselves & their guests. Obviously yes, they want beautiful photos to remember their day by. But it’s so much more than that. Your wedding day shouldn’t feel like a day long photo shoot. It’s not about the photos; it’s about the love, the people, the real moments. These two understood that and it was evident in every part of their wedding.
I loved every bit of this day, and a huge thanks to Frank Vilsack for shooting alongside me! A few of his stellar images are included below. I hope you enjoy this beautiful Fox Chapel Golf Club Wedding! Also, check out Morgan & Ryan’s Classic Mellon Park Engagement Session from last summer, too!
